Why people look for a Golpo alternative

Usually the free plan and the price of the first paid step. Golpo's pricing page says its free plan is one one-minute video, and that the free video includes a watermark and can't be downloaded. The first paid plan, Starter, is $39.99 a month billed monthly for 20 minutes of video, with each video up to 2 minutes long. If you want to try a few real videos before paying, or you need longer ones, that is where the comparison starts.

What Golpo does well

Languages and scale. Golpo lists 45+ languages on its Creator plan and above, plans up to Business with 390 minutes a month and videos of up to 10 minutes, and a pay-as-you-go option with no subscription: one credit is one minute, from $7.99 a minute for 5 to 19 credits down to $3.99 a minute for 100 or more. It is a Y Combinator-backed company with API access and enterprise plans, which matters to teams buying for an organisation.

Where it may cost you

Length and add-ons. Videos are capped at 2 minutes on Starter and Creator and 4 minutes on Growth, so a five-minute lesson needs the Business plan or pay as you go, which is in beta. On Starter, more languages are a $40 add-on, and uploading a logo is a $100 add-on on Growth. Golpo also says its generated videos should be reviewed before use, which is good advice for any AI video tool, ours included.

What StrokeVideo does instead

Paste your script and it is narrated word for word, or type a topic and the script is written for you; a web page or a PDF works as a source too. A picture is drawn for each part of the narration and traced stroke by stroke in time with the voice, in 15 languages. 1 video a day are free, up to 2 minutes, downloadable as an MP4 with no watermark and no card. Videos come out in 3:2, 16:9 or vertical 9:16.

Changing a video after it is made

Members can open a finished video and redraw or edit a single board, or change the voice, and the rest of the video keeps its timing. Members can also add a logo intro and a closing board in their brand settings, as part of the membership rather than as a paid add-on.

Side by side

Free plan: one 1-minute video that is watermarked and can't be downloaded, versus 1 video a day up to 2 minutes, downloadable and without a watermark. Paid: Golpo from $39.99 a month for 20 minutes, or $3.99 to $7.99 a minute pay as you go; StrokeVideo plans are priced for your region. Longest video: 2 to 10 minutes on Golpo depending on the plan, up to 15 minutes in one video on a StrokeVideo plan. Languages: 45+ on Golpo's Creator plan and above, 15 on StrokeVideo.

Who should switch, and who should not

Switch if you want to try real, downloadable videos for free, need explainers longer than 2 minutes without moving to a top plan, or want your own script narrated word for word. Stay with Golpo if you need its 45+ languages, an API, an enterprise contract, or minutes you can buy without a subscription.

How this page was written

By the StrokeVideo team, a direct competitor, so read it with that in mind. Every statement about Golpo comes from its own pricing page, https://video.golpoai.com/pricing, checked on 26 October 2026. That page gives yearly billing as 40 to 50% off without the yearly totals, so we do not quote any. Prices change, so check Golpo's page before you decide, and tell us if something here is out of date.
